D8 Neighborhood Beautification Day (Bernal Heights / Glen Park)

Join San Francisco Public Works for a day of greening and neighborhood pride in District 8 (Glen Park, Bernal, Diamond Heights, Noe Valley, Duboce Triangle, and more). There will be 7-10 worksites where volunteers will garden, mulch, plant trees, pick up litter, or abate graffiti. The projects and tasks will be different, depending on the site and community group's requests. This event will happen rain-or-shine. ### Projects - Diamond Heights Blvd Medians - Bosworth Green Space at Glen Park School (tentative) ### What to Expect - The event kicks off at James Lick Middle School yard with registration between 8:30 AM and 9 AM. - We’ll hold a short speaking program to go over the day’s activities and get a quick safety overview. - Volunteers and Public Works staff then will head to their assigned work sites. - Work will take place for about 3 hours, with everyone returning to the kickoff location around noon. - Sandwiches will be served to volunteers at the end. ### What to Wear/Bring - Dress in layers - Wear closed toe shoes and sunscreen - Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated ### Community Partners San Francisco Public Works, San Francisco Unified School District, Elected Officials

Glen Park Greenway Beautification Day

Join community volunteers for a morning of cleaning and gardening on the Glen Park Greenway! Our goals are to create a native meadow and an oak woodland to promote biodiversity, sequester carbon, attract pollinators, and educate the community about our natural environment. Join Guerrero neighbors for a morning of pruning, weeding, and cleaning. Volunteers will meet near 519 Guerrero St and then work on the median for the 500 block. SF Public Works will provide lane closure and tools. This event is not a standard Guerrero Median Beautification Day. This project is part of the annual District 8 Neighborhood Beautification Day. Hang out with neighbors and clean up in Nob Hill. Join Le Beau Market, Refuse Refuse, SF Public Works, and the community for a friendly neighborhood cleanup! Illegal dumping in the Bayview accounts for nearly half of all calls for trash removal in San Francisco. But you can make a difference! Join Refuse Refuse, SF Public Works, and the community for the Bayview Beautification Day, another cleanup spectacular and a chance to get to know your neighbors!
